Dear Walter,
The world is anxiously watching the oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. So far Southwest Florida's beaches are not impacted in any way. But businesses and area hotels are complaining about revenue loss already and the water is being monitored closely for any oil. The pictures from the Louisiana coast are heartbreaking and we all hope that clean-up will be swift and complete, while hoping that our coastline will be spared. Are we turning the corner?
After looking at the promising sign "Future home of Lowe's" for about two years, they finally broke ground. The brand new Lowe's will be open for
business at the corner of 951 and US41 in September 2010. Another eight acre commercial tract across the street has just been cleared and is for sale.
A walk along the beach in Naples reveals several multimillion dollar mansions in various stages of construction.
Gulfshore Development II LLC's new Naples Casamore project on Gulfshore Blvd is one of the most ambitious projects ever. Twelve multimillion dollar homes are being constructed simultanously by BCB Homes. The project became possible through the acquisition and teardown of two older condominium buildings. The residences will feature 6,000 to 6,400 Sq.Ft. with a price tag between $ 4 and 5 million. New Construction
Fifth Avenue had a great season, the street was always bustling with people. Several new businesses and restaurants have opened on Fifth Avenue. Blue Mussel, Lulu's Little Market and Rosso Pomodoro are just a few newcomers. Extended hours, the two week CityFest and more live music also contribute to a more vibrant and busier street. |

No summer doldrums for Lely Resort. After a terrific season with more than 90 new construction contracts, Stock Development wants to accomplish A LOT before next season.
Dog lovers rejoice! There will be a two acre dog park on the corner of Wildflower Way across from the Flamingo club house. Separate areas are planned for smaller and larger dogs complete with water stations, benches for the owners and 26 parking lots.
The Player's Club and Spa will be expanded to include twice the number of tennis courts and a second restaurant. The spa facilities will move to the current tennis club location which will provide a quiet setting for the treatment rooms. A lazy river and more lounging areas are planned as well. April Sales
 April saw substantial increases in sales again. The inventory continues to decrease, especially the lower price segment. The higher end saw the largest gains with almost twice the number of sales in the one million to two million dollar segment. Even more encouraging are 26 sales in the $2M+ price range versus 12 sales in April 2009.
